With this gate opener, you no longer need to leave your car just to open your gate. With a touch of a button from the remote control or via a sensor, the gate will open automatically.

But the question is, is it possible to install a gate and the gate openers by yourself if you have the know how? The answer is, yes! But before you do that, there are a few things you need to consider. First, you need to know where you want to install the gate. Second, you need to get in touch with your local government for you to know if there are underground utilities that pass through your area. Since you need to install the posts and the trenches within the ground, you need to check first if might harm the underground utilities once you start doing the project. But if there is no problem, then you may start installing the gate.

Guidelines for Installing the Electric Gate Opener

Here are a few things you must do to start your gate installation project:

·        Spray paint in the area where you want to dig.
·        Create holes using a driller on the areas where you want to place the gate.
·        Drill another hole where you will place the control box of the Gate Opener.
·        Position the box properly so it won’t affect the functionality of the gate.
·        Dig the ground where you will put the sensor. Make sure that the location of the sensor is 50 feet away from the gate’s perimeter and one foot within the ground. The exit sensor should also be buried in a way that one can’t connect the wires to the control box easily.
·        There should be wires that come with the box. The wires should be connected to the wired keypad to control gate, the exit sensor and to supply the power source.
·        Make sure that the keypad post is installed properly.
·        Mount the control box properly. Place it near to the hinge posts of the Gate for easy access.

Installing the gate opener is a tedious task, but it’s all worth it once you finished the project. But if you don’t have the time to do it, you may just want to call a professional garage door repair service to do the work for you.
